I think this works pretty good as one of those inspirational songs, though it feels just a bit discordant from 2:15 to 2:29 (when the drum hits it feels like the song gets thrown off-kilter a bit in terms of harmony). I'm not sure if the drum is specifically to blame though, because after that it's not so bad.

Good work on this. Keep honing your craft.

PotangNG responds:

Oh yeah, I changed the chord progression on that one. Not too happy with it. I see what you mean though. Maybe next time I'll try getting the chords to run a bit smoother, it might help. Thanks!

It's a bit repetitive and there's not a ton of progression to the track, but I like the complexities lain in the track. I think this would work pretty well as a background piece for a game menu or some brief setting in a movie.

:) should keep an eye out for the video game inspired collab I did with InnerSpaces, it's exactly as you said lol

It's a decent start. I like the little melody you have going here, and the instrument you chose to sing it. That said, that background strumming that I suppose is acting as a pseudo-percussion is a little off in my opinion. It's not terrible, but I don't feel like it adds a whole lot to the song.

Also, it really feels like the song ends abruptly in the middle of a statement, kind of like

Keep at it. I think you have some potential here.

I think you have a good melody going here. As you say, though, it's a bit short, and that limits its potential a bit before it can really go anywhere. Still, solid work on this one.

I feel like you could use a scout for your work so far. You seem to know what you're doing.

It's an interesting track, certainly unique, though I don't know how I feel about the jarring percussion compared to the more quiet parts. For what it's worth, it seems to be competently-produced.

You have a decent setup for a song here, but it does kind of drone on for too long without any real change. That's fine if you are specifically going for a droney style, but a successful drone piece tends to blend into the background and not remind you that it's looping. The minute at the end feels really out of place, and it doesn't really connect to the first song at all, not to mention that it literally just sounds like someone mashing keys randomly.

Keep working on your craft, but I would suggest leaving tracks like these off of Newgrounds. They're better left as reference points or experiments.

Hey, this is a really good first piece. It sounds like you have quite a bit of background with music making, so I'd like to see you upload more of your stuff to your profile. It's not often that I find a user uploading their first song into the "ambient" category that actually qualifies as ambient. :p

I think this was a good result. It's got a nice structure with decent progression and was not distracting. I think it will work well as the backdrop of some project or another. One thing that I particularly like is that it doesn't try to be loud at all. Just as Ambient should do.

This is a decent track with good fundamentals. It sounds a lot like a background ambiance for Minecraft. I think you have a decent start here, but if the intention is to make a song for sleeping, I feel like it should be a bit gentler with the main pads, and perhaps have a lower tempo with a less straightforward progression.

Thank you for your comment :) I will take your wishes into account in the next compositions

Interesting progression here. I initially thought this was going to be a more eerie dark piece until the main chorus hit a third of the way in. This kind of reminds me of SineRider's early works, in a good way of course. I think you have a good style here that you should continue to develop.

Only thing to note is the roughly 50 seconds of utter silence at the end. Was that intentional?

KTSVNE responds:

thank you for finding my song interesting, and I didn't notice the long silence at the end, must've been some sort of rendering error. I'll cut that part right now lol
